The Barn at Guiles is a delightful 'hide away' cottage, offering stylish and comfortable accommodation for 2 people in a recently reconstructed building, originally used for livestock. It sits on the edge of the Green at Froxfield which is surrounded by listed buildings including the Church of St Peter on the Green. Although only 4 miles away from the old market town of Petersfield in Hampshire, Froxfield is in a very rural area of outstanding natural beauty - now included in the newly designated South Downs National Park. Petersfield is on the main Waterloo to Portsmouth line and the trains run every half hour - London 1 hour 3 mins.
The self-catering accommodation, which has under floor heating throughout the ground floor, consists of a spacious living room with a wood burning stove - 2 steps then lead up to the double height kitchen with modern appliances and a view over the village. The shower room is also double height with contemporary fittings and natural light from a roof window. A lovely handcrafted oak staircase leads up to the double bedroom with 'antique' velux window facing east where the morning sun shines through (with shutters if a lie-in is preferable!)
There is a lockable room for storage of bicycles, boots etc with a washing machine and tumble drier. The garden area faces south and has a table and chairs for enjoying the sun. There is plently of room for 2 cars.
